Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney held his weekly press conference Tuesday and gave the latest injury update on star freshman wide receiver Bryant Wesco.
Swinney said Wesco (ankle) benefited from the bye week last week, and that Tuesday and Wednesday will be “big” days for him as far as his availability for Saturday’s game vs. Louisville.
“It gave him time and is helping him have more time to get ready to play,” Swinney said of Wesco and the bye week. “So, I thought he got off to a good start last week. But big day today and tomorrow. Big day. Two really strenuous physical days getting these guys ready to go play again on Saturday night. So, hopefully he’ll have a good week and be ready to go. But he’s definitely made a lot of progress.”
Wesco has missed Clemson’s last two games against Virginia and Wake Forest after getting banged up in the Tigers’ win over Florida State on Oct. 5.
A former five-star prospect from Texas who enrolled at Clemson in January, Wesco played in the first five games this season, catching 11 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is averaging 23.8 yards per catch.
