ELBERT COUNTY, GA (WSPA) – Five people are now facing charges in connection with a deadly shooting at a high school after-party in Elbert County.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said five people from Anderson County have been charged with murder and gang act violations, including one person who was arrested in mid-October.
20-year-old Destanne Mathis and 18-year-old Aanidras Parks were arrested on October 28, while 19-year-old Jerimiyah Hughes and 18-year-old Desmond Latimer were arrested on October 30. 18-year-old Jarquavious Scott was arrested on October 17.
All five are charged with murder and violation of the Georgia street gang terrorism and prevention act. Scott and Parks each face four counts of aggravated assault and one aggravated battery charge while Hughes was charged with three counts of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
The shooting happened Saturday, October 12 at a homecoming dance after-party on Evergreen Drive near Elberton just before midnight.
15-year-old Bry’shun Treviyus O’Brian Jordan, a student at Hart Academy in Hart County, was killed in the shooting.
