‘Spartanburg is a community that welcomes everybody:’ City celebrates annual Pride fest

The Upstate Pride March and Festival started Saturday with a march around Spartanburg and back to Barnet Park. Local entertainers were featured on the main stage presenting drag performances and comedy routines for guests.

“I am so thrilled to be in my hometown of Spartanburg for the 16th year of the Upstate Pride March and Festival,” said Patti O’Furniture, master of ceremonies. “Pride and festivals like this show that Spartanburg is a community that welcomes everybody. It is one of the things that makes me so proud to be from Spartanburg.”
