‘Impractical Jokers’ star Sal Vulcano talks Greenville comedy show, family, fears

Growing up, Sal Vulcano had many fears, like moths, thunder, and getting his temperature taken at the doctor’s office.

At one point in time, he was even afraid of Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine’s 80’s hit, “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You.”

The touring comedian, best known for his ongoing hit TV show “Impractical Jokers,” is not immune from being frightened. This may surprise his fans, who have watched him follow through with plenty of wacky dares onscreen, albeit hesitantly.

“As a child, I was scared of everything,” Vulcano said. “I mean, everything.”

The Joker also recalled the memory of his home being robbed while he was present, making for a terrifying experience.

Despite all this, Vulcano expressed he does not rely on his comedic chops to cope with his fears. Instead, he makes his fears work for him. Full-time.

“I’m not above being scared of stuff just because I’m a comic. But it’s all good because if I have an experience like that, I’ll usually try to take it to the stage.” he said.
