Initiative to address $621M hit to South Carolina agribusiness from weather events

A new program has launched to help a South Carolina agribusiness industry that suffered a $621 million loss due to weather events in 2024. Gov. Henry McMaster and Lt. Gov. Pamela S. Evette have launched Farm and Forest Recovery Resource Days, which will provide South Carolina’s farming and forestry communities affected by Hurricane Helene with a one-stop shop to learn about available assistance and services, according to a news release. Farm and Forest Recovery Resource Days will take place in Aiken on Friday, Nov. 15, Greenville on Thursday, Nov. 21, and Myrtle Beach on Friday, Dec. 6.
