SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man was killed Wednesday morning while attempting to cross a busy road in Spartanburg County.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said a man was attempting to cross Highway 9 near Sojourners Way when he was hit by an SUV headed southbound around 6:45 a.m.
The man was taken to Spartanburg Medical Center where he later died.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Dennie Ralph Wilson, 66, of Spartanburg.
The incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and Highway Patrol. A forensic exam has been scheduled for Thursday.
