Upstate women “turns pain into purpose” with educational scholarships

FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. – An upstate organization dedicated to spreading awareness about gun violence is giving back to the community.

In 2020, Derambez Morgan was shot and killed by a co-worker in Inman. His mother, Melice Morgan Jones, has since made it her mission to fight back against gun violence.

“My son Derambez Morgan was just 26 years old; he didn’t have children, he hadn’t gotten married, and he was working on his real-estate management degree, which is why he was working in Inman,” Morgan added. “God put into my spirit to turn my pain into purpose.”…
