Sheriff: Deputies justified in using deadly force in shooting in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office released a critical incident report determining whether or not deputies were justified in using deadly force in a shooting that took place on Jan. 23.

The shooting took place at Greenville Inn & Suites on South Pleasantburg Drive. Sheriff Hobart Lewis said deputies were searching for an armed robbery suspect from Pickens County.

A suspect, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, had demanded money from a store clerk at a Shell station on Old Easley Bridge Road before fleeing in a dark Nissan Pathfinder, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said…
