A local homeowner brought and application for a variance from Greenville Development Code’s rear building setback requirement in RH-C (House C Zoning) zoning. Section 19-2.1.1 of The Greenville Development Code requires that homes in House C zoning maintain a 15-foot setback between its primary structure and rear property line. There is some room under Section 19 to reduce the setback requirement from 15 to 12 feet if the proposed addition is unenclosed.
