The third annual SC Youth Skilled Trades Summit was held in Greenville on March 13.
More than 80 high school students participating in the Harbor Freight Fellows Initiative attended the event at McAlister Square. These students from across South Carolina plan to pursue careers in the skilled trades industries, including construction, automotive technology, mechatronics, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
Several students from the Donaldson Career Center and Golden Strip Career Center in Greenville County attended the event.
Danny Corwin, executive director of Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, said the Harbor Freight Fellows Initiative aims to pair students with businesses to participate in apprenticeships that will lead to full-time employment.
