GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – FOX Carolina Investigates is digging deeper into online threats in Greenville County and tracking the number of cyber crimes involving children. Experts are encouraging parents to step in and stop it as the warning becomes dire and the safety of children online is crucial.
“There’s a lot of good things on the internet but there’s also a lot of bad things so it’s super important that parents monitor their children’s activity,” said Lt. Ryan Flood with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
The Attorney General’s Office has sounded the alarm about a violent online network targeting teenagers and kids for sextortion, blackmail and other threats. Law enforcement officials say it is now more important than ever for parents to pay attention and monitor their kids’ online activity.
