Individuals experiencing homelessness can escape the heat at Miracle Hill Ministries’ severe-weather shelters this summer.
The shelters will be open for men and women when temperatures are projected at 95 degrees or above and in cases of severe weather conditions. Unsheltered individuals can receive cold water and snacks during the day at the shelters in Greenville, Spartanburg and Cherokee counties. Bathrooms and places to rest will also be available at the shelters.
According to Miracle Hill, unsheltered individuals often suffer from chronic health conditions such as respiratory or cardiovascular diseases that can be aggravated by extreme heat. Heat exhaustion and heatstroke can also occur for those who lack access to shaded areas or air conditioning…
