GREENVILLE, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Public Health approved a Certificate Of Need application this week. This will allow Novant Health to build a new 20-bed hospital in the upstate. The exact location is on Patewood Drive. This comes as officials with Novant Health say they are seeking to strengthen its presence in the Palmetto State.
“This approval represents a meaningful milestone for Novant Health and the communities we are honored to serve in the Upstate,” said Jason Bernd, senior vice president, Novant Health, president of the South Carolina Region. “As one of the fastest-growing areas in the state, Greenville deserves expanded access to high-quality care close to home. This new hospital will allow us to deliver on that promise for patients who live in Greenville and the surrounding communities.”
Despite the hospital planning to only have 20 beds when it opens, the location will have operating rooms and offer diagnostic imaging. According to the press release, the facility will also be able to expand to meet a growing demand. This will be Novant Health’s 20th hospital.
