Hampton-Pinckney Porchfest wins SC Heritage Tourism Award

On June 18, Hampton-Pinckney Porchfest was awarded a South Carolina Heritage Tourism Award. The award is given to local attractions that utilize tourism for the benefit of cultural preservation.

Porchfest is a nonprofit confluence of live music, food and crafts in the historic Hampton-Pinckney neighborhood in downtown Greenville. Bands play on the porches of historic homes while festival goers peruse the neighborhood. The Hampton-Pinckney neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The event held its inaugural event in 2021 and has since erected a historic marker for the area.
