A key approval by state health officials means plans for a new Greenville hospital will move forward, according to a news release from the city of Greenville.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health approved a Certificate of Need application from Novant Health, a Winston-Salem-based health care system, for a 20-bed hospital on Patewood Drive, the release stated. Located between the Haywood Road and Roper Mountain Road exits off Interstate 385, the facility will be outpatient-focused and offer specialty services, operating rooms and diagnostic imaging.
