South Carolina Thunderstorm Alert: Damaging Winds and Flash Flood Risk from 4 p.m. to Midnight Tuesday

Greenville, South Carolina – A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected to develop late Tuesday afternoon across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia, bringing the risk of damaging winds and isolated flash flooding through midnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, storms are forecast to initiate after 4 p.m. in the western North Carolina mountains before pushing eastward across the Upstate and into the North Carolina Piedmont by evening. Areas under a Marginal Risk include Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville, Hickory, and northeast Georgia cities like Toccoa.
