Polly Stewart visits Greenville with new novel, a tale of crime, moonshine and the South

Virginia-based author Polly Stewart will stop at M.Judson Booksellers in Greenville to promote her latest novel, “The Felons’ Ball.”

Stewart found inspiration for her story based on growing up in Virginia, where moonshine was still part of the culture.

The book follows Trey Macready and his best friend Ben Marsh, who in their younger years, served as distributors and enforcers for the local distillers that made their town Ewald, Virginia, the moonshine capital of the world. With their criminal past behind them, their only tie to to their criminal past is the Felons’ Ball – Trey’s annual birthday party where they regale the crowed with tales of their youthful exploits. But when Ben is found dead after Trey’s 50th celebration, it’s clear those connections may not be past at all…
