SCDOT accelerates bridge projects with $439 million investment

The South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission approved updates to the bridge program, including directing an additional $200 million to bridges following the appropriation from the General Assembly.

The 2025 list approved by Commission action prioritizes bridge projects that SCDOT expects to begin in the coming years with current and future funding appropriations.

Laurens County has two bridges on the list of primary bridges. The bridges on Hwy. 72 over Duncan Creek are currently prioritized as the fourth and sixth project on the 2025 primary bridge program.
