CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — Researchers at Clemson University are studying a potential treatment for a brain-eating amoeba. South Carolina health officials confirmed one person recently died from the infection in the Midlands.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 97% of people who contract the brain-eating amoeba die.
