Cooling centers open as Upstate braces for hot temperatures

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – As temperatures across the Upstate continue to flirt with triple digits, heat-related concerns are rising, prompting emergency volunteers to open local cooling centers.

In Spartanburg, where the heat index has made it feel even hotter than the thermometers show, emergency teams are urging residents to stay hydrated and seek relief indoors.
