Community gives input on Greenville’s new skatepark project

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Plans for a new multi-million dollar wheelsports park in Greenville are officially in motion and the community had its first chance to weigh in.

On Monday, residents gathered at the former Runway Cafe at the Greenville Downtown Airport for the first public input meeting. The event was held just steps from the 10-acre site where the future park is set to be built, close to the Swamp Rabbit Trail.

City officials are proposing a professionally designed facility that would include a concrete skatepark, asphalt pump track and paved bicycle playground. Plans also include restrooms, shaded seating areas, parking and a direct connection to the Green Line of the trail system…
