State department hosts event to continue providing Helene aid

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – The South Carolina Department of Insurance (DOI) held an event in Greenville to continue providing aid for people affected by Helene.

The DOI held a Consumer Assistance Site at the Salvation Army Center on Westfield Street. Experts provided resources and offered advice on insurance and how to best prepare for the upcoming hurricane season.

“It is a priority for us to go out into the communities that we serve,” said Michael Wise, Director of the South Carolina Department of Insurance. “We want consumers to know that storms happen everywhere, and it is crucial for them to protect their families from the financial devastation that can result from an uncovered loss.”…
