Applications are now open for the 2025 Upstate Mobility Impaired Deer Hunts, a program offered by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) in partnership with private landowners to provide hunting opportunities for individuals with severe mobility impairments.
The hunts are scheduled for Oct. 24–25 in Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union counties and Oct. 31 in Laurens and Newberry counties. Applications and signed liability waivers must be submitted by Sept. 3, according to a memorandum from SCDNR wildlife biologist Mark Carroll.
Eligibility is limited to hunters who are permanently confined to a wheelchair, permanently require the use of a mechanical aid such as a walker, braces or cane to walk, or have complete single or double leg amputations.
