GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A major break in the heat is underway for parts of the region this weekend as temperatures sink well below average. Both temperatures and dew points creep back up into next week as the chance of showers and thunderstorms remain a constant in the forecast.
‘Weather whiplash’ is in effect for Sunday as an unseasonable cold air wedge continues and allows temperatures to tumble into the 70s, which is about 10 to 15 degrees below average for the Western Carolinas. Sunday will be a tad nicer in comparison with a few breaks in the clouds at times, this will allow temperatures to rise slightly.
