The next full moon of the summer will be here before we know it as the Sturgeon Moon will be visible on August 9. If you’re looking to view this full moon at its apex, it will reach its peak illumination at around 4 a.m.
In some cultures, this moon is said to be most closely associated with strength, wisdom, and perseverance. The Farmer’s Almanac says “The name Sturgeon Moon comes from the Sturgeon fish; this native freshwater fish was readily caught during this part of summer and an important food staple for Native Americans who lived in the region.
