Roseland Community Center hosts back-to-school party

TRYON—Participants in Roseland Community Center’s RISE! program were treated to a back-to-school party on Saturday, August 9.

RISE! staff, board members, parents, grandparents, and volunteers were on hand to distribute grade-appropriate school supplies, personal hygiene items, T-shirts and snacks, serve food, and provide a fun time to kick off a new school year. Participants were also able to collect their arts and crafts projects from the summer program and the Juneteenth celebration.

They also enjoyed music, glow sticks, games, and a last run on the new playground installations before the beginning of school. After sharing messages of encouragement posted on the message board to themselves and their friends, the afternoon concluded with a blessing, high fives, and hugs all around…
