GEORGIA — A South Carolina man was arrested late Friday after fleeing from a traffic stop in Hart County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the incident began just before midnight on Aug. 22 during a safety check at the new four-way stop on Lavonia Highway at Junction 77 Road and Providence Church Road. A white Honda Ridgeline fled the intersection, and deputies attempted a traffic stop.
The driver, later identified as 53-year-old Michael Gibert of Anderson County, refused to stop and led deputies north on Providence Church Road before entering I-85 northbound toward South Carolina…
