Upstate restaurant destroyed in weekend fire

The three-alarm fire that destroyed an Anderson County over the weekend is getting some closer investigation. Firefighters from Anderson County, Centerville and Sandy Springs batted the blaze at the Hooters Restaurant on Interstate Boulevard near Highway 76.

A police officer on his way to another call spotted the flames . Anderson County units were on the scene by 8:40 PM, Sunday night. The building was badly damaged by the time they got the fire under control.

Then around 4:15AM Monday, Sandy Springs firefighters were called again. The fire had rekindled and as of now the restaurant is a total loss. Preliminary reports blame electrical problems for this fire and two others in the last three months…
