ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A Hooters restaurant in Anderson County burned down early Monday morning, leaving the building in ruins after a fire broke out around 4:30 a.m.
The blaze at 112 Interstate Boulevard was one of the largest that Upstate fire crews have fought recently, according to Anderson County Fire Chief Jimmy Sutherland.
About 45 firefighters from three different stations worked for more than 30 minutes to extinguish the flames.
Chief Sutherland noted, “One of the signs had an electrical short in it. And, they eliminated the wire going to it, and everything was good… the way they’ve been talking, they’ve been having some electrical issues from what we can gather.”
