Annual Greenville aviation show to feature rare World War II bomber

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The annual Warbird Weekend Static Aviation Show will return to Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) Oct. 4 and Oct. 5.

The event features rare historic aircraft, aviation displays and family-friendly activities in GMU’s Community Corridor.

Officials said that the star of this year’s show is Rosie’s Reply, a World War II-era B-25 Mitchell bomber brought in by the Michigan Flight Museum. Greenville is one of the only East Coast stops for the aircraft, offering the public a chance to book a ride in a combat-veteran bomber.

According to officials, Rosie’s Reply flew eight combat missions with the 12th Air Force over Italy and the Brenner Pass. The B-25 bomber was made famous in the Doolittle Raid on Japan only four months after the Pearl Harbor attack in Hawaii.
