Upstate man pleads guilty to assaulting pregnant woman

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — An Upstate man pleaded guilty Monday to a 2023 domestic violence incident involving a pregnant woman.

The Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced that 23-year-old Cooper Allen Black, of Pickens, was sentenced to 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of domestic violence of a high & aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Black’s charges stem from an incident on July 20, 2023, where Black assaulted a victim, who was 37 weeks pregnant, and threatened her with a .380 caliber handgun…
