SACRA officially opens for mountain bikers, hikers

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. – A 900-acre site of privately-owned land officially opened on Thursday, giving the public free access to a 20-mile network of trails.

The trailhead for the Saluda Confluence Recreation Area (SACRA), located at 1760 Keeler Mill Rd., is less than five miles away from the city limits of Travelers Rest.

“There’s something for everybody here, whether you’re hiking, trail running, mountain biking — beginner, intermediate, advanced,” Matt Hudson-Flege, executive director of the Upstate Greenways and Trail Alliance (UGATA), told FOX Carolina News. “Anyone is welcome to come here dawn to dusk seven days a week.”…
