GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – U.S. car seats are tested in various crash scenarios to ensure the seat is safe for a child. Experts say counterfeit car seats are not safety tested and don’t follow the same regulations.
Nurses at Prisma Health say they have seen an increase in counterfeit car seats in recent years. Camila Perez is a child passenger safety technician from the Bradshaw Institute, which is a non-profit that partners with Prisma.
