‘Warbird Weekend’ Static Aviation Show held in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — Aviation enthusiasts flocked to the Greenville Downtown Airport this weekend for “Warbird Weekend,” a free event featuring iconic World War II aircraft, including a B-25 Mitchell bomber.

The B-25 Mitchell bomber, famous for its role in the 1942 Doolittle Raid on Japan, was the main attraction at the event. Visitors had the rare opportunity to book flights on the historic aircraft, making Greenville one of the few East Coast stops for the bomber.

“Our goal is to expose the next generation to aviation,” said James Stephens, director of the Greenville Downtown Airport. “We know what we have here in the airport. We’ll make some public that.”…
