Greenville County Council reviews $10M plan for Twin Chimneys

The Greenville County Council had its second reading of a General Obligation Bond Request, allowing up to $10 million to pursue projects at Twin Chimneys, the county’s solid waste facility.

General obligation bonds are a type of government loan backed by taxpayer dollars. The County plans to issue or sell these bonds to fund the construction of a new 1.7-million-cubic-yard landfill cell at the facility. The County says it plans to levy annual taxes to pay back the principal and interest.
