Affordable housing community opens in Greenville

Gateway at the Green, a new all-affordable 72-unit apartment community on Webb Road in Greenville, officially opened Oct. 15 — not only complete but also fully leased.

“We knew this would be a really convenient workforce location,” Bryan Brown, Greenville Housing Fund‘s president and CEO., said in a news release. The location was chosen for its proximity near businesses on Mall Connector, Congaree and Woodruff Roads, as well as close to the Patewood medical campuses and a new city of Greenville, Greenville County, and state of South Carolina public services cluster around the corner on Halton Road.

All units at Gateway at the Green are intended to be affordable for families and households earning less than 60% of area median income. Thirteen units are reserved to support renters earning between 20-30%, meaning a working, single person earning roughly $13,500 annually would be able to afford a one-bedroom apartment at Gateway at the Green, according to the news release…
