Clemson’s Dr. Jeryl Jones Receives National Lifetime Achievement Award for Advancing Veterinary Medicine in Our Community

Dr. Jeryl “Jeri” Jones, Professor Emerita at Clemson University, has been named one of two recipients of the 2025 Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR). The award is the highest recognition from ACVR and honors individuals for significant contributions to veterinary radiology in research, teaching, and service. Dr. Jones expressed appreciation for the award and noted its importance to her career. She joins previous recipients such as Dr. Mike Bernstein and Dr. Greg Daniel, who was also recognized this year.

Dr. Jones is a board-certified veterinary radiologist and has led work in veterinary diagnostic imaging. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound for over ten years. Her nomination cited her service to ACVR, her work as an educator and mentor, and her research in diagnostic imaging.

Dr. Jones joined Clemson University in 2015 after faculty roles at Auburn University, the Virginia–Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, and West Virginia University. At Clemson, she contributed to the establishment of the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine, South Carolina’s first veterinary college, and helped secure its provisional accreditation.
