(WACH) — The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) confirmed eight new cases of measles in Spartanburg County, bringing the state’s total for 2025 to 33.
30 cases are linked to an ongoing outbreak in the Upstate region.
The new cases were linked to close contacts of previously identified cases who had been quarantining at home, officials announced Tuesday. The successful early quarantining shows how quickly containment efforts can prevent spread.
DPH has activated its Mobile Health Unit to provide free measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccines to unvaccinated individuals.
The unit will visit the Inman Library on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 2 to 6 p.m., and the Boiling Springs Library on Nov. 3, 5, and 6 from 1 to 4 p.m…
