1 person, 1 dog exposed to rabid skunk in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S..C (WSPA) — State health officials are encouraging people to keep their distance from wild animals after a rabid skunk was found in Simpsonville.

According to the South Carolina Department of Public Health (SCDPH), the infected animal was found near Lori Drive and Woodruff Road.

One individual and a pet dog were exposed to the skunk. The person was referred to their healthcare provider while the dog will be quarantined in accordance with the South Carolina Rabies Control Act…
