GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has arrested two detainees in connection with an alleged beating that happened at an Upstate jail.
The agency announced on Friday that 27-year-old Calvin Lee Thompson Jr. and 23-year-old Tishone Dunlap-Wright were each charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, second-degree assault and battery by a mob and criminal conspiracy for an incident that happened on March 30.
Authorities said the two were at the Greenville County Detention Center and were accused in warrants of causing significant blunt force trauma to the victim, who had internal bleeding, and had to have their spleen and portions of their pancreas removed.
