GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Transportation Committee is considering an ordinance to help keep the noise from carwashes down in neighborhoods.
Lisa McDonald, a Greenville County resident, said she has been living with noise in her backyard from the carwash built behind her property for years. FOX Carolina’s Grace Runkel reports the noise reached almost 85 decibels while she was on the property, which can cause hearing damage according to the CDC.
McDonald said, “It’s miserable. I hate it here. I can’t walk out back. I can’t walk out front. It’s constant noise. I can’t take my daughter outside. I go out to try to play with my dog for a little bit and the noise is absolutely torturous.”…
