New details of fatal Greenville Co. deputy-involved shooting released

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office released the 911 call and body cam footage Wednesday morning of a deputy-involved shooting on Stegall Circle in late September.

On Sunday, September 28, a fatal shooting involving deputies claimed the life of 44-year-old Johnny Ray Moore Jr., of Greenville. An investigation was initiated before 1 p.m. when the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding an armed individual, later identified as Moore, trespassing on a vacant property.

Deputies said Moore had previously been placed on trespass notice from the property on Stegall Circle. The caller also informed officials that Moore allegedly told them that ‘he was going to make law enforcement kill him.’…
