Deputies Clarify Viral Social Media Claim After Woman Alleges She Was Stabbed in Inman, South Carolina

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — Officials in Spartanburg County are dispelling a viral social media post that claimed a woman was stabbed while visiting the town of Inman, saying there is no evidence or reports supporting the claim.

The post, which circulated widely on Facebook and other local community pages, included a photo of a red mark on someone’s arm and a warning urging residents to “be aware of your surroundings.” It alleged that a man had approached the woman, attempted to stab her, and fled the scene.

However, according to a statement from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, investigators found no record of any such attack reported to authorities.
