On November 18, 2025, Spartanburg County Deputies responded to several incidents involving Michael Travis Waddell in Campobello, South Carolina. The first call came at about 5:45 a.m. for a car break-in on Asheville Highway. When deputies arrived, the suspect fled. A short vehicle chase followed and ended when the suspect hit a deputy’s car, disabling it.
Soon after, deputies responded to another car break-in on Highway 357 involving the same suspect. He escaped on foot. K9 units were used, but deputies did not find him at that time. Later that morning, around 10:30 a.m., deputies returned to Highway 357 for a report of auto theft. They found that the suspect had entered a home’s basement and stolen a vehicle.
Deputies identified the suspect as Michael Travis Waddell. They obtained arrest warrants for assault, burglary, grand larceny, and carbreaking. The next day, just before 1:00 p.m., deputies found Waddell. He fled again, but was caught after a short chase on Sloan Road in Inman…
