Dog quarantined after rabies exposure in Pickens Co.

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A skunk has tested positive for rabies in Pickens County, the South Carolina Department of Public Health (SCDPH) announced Wednesday.

The skunk was sent to SCDPH’s lab for testing on Tuesday, after the animal was found near Spirit Mountain Lane and Mt. Frontenac Way in Easley.

Though no humans were exposed to the infected animal, one dog was exposed. The dog is being quarantined in accordance with the state’s Rabies Control Act…
