Clemson Scientist Works To Keep Peanuts And Other Crops Safe From Toxins

This vial holds Aspergillus parasiticus, a species of fungus commonly found in foodstuffs, known for producing toxic carcinogenic metabolites called aflatoxins. Sachin Rustgi, a Clemson molecular breeder, is leading a group of scientists who are studying to determine a more reliable way to fight aflatoxin contamination.
