2 Upstate Medicaid providers charged with fraud

(WSPA) – Two Upstate Medicare providers were charged and face over 10 years in prison after prosecutors said the women submitted fraudulent reports for personal gain.

A press release from the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office said Tami Ferguson Stewart, 65, of Simpsonville, and Sydney R. Weiss, 27, of Pickens, were arrested by the office’s Vulnerable Adults and Medicaid Provider Fraud Unit (VAMPF).

According to the release, Stewart is the owner of Above and Beyond Care Services, LLC, where she “knowingly submitted fraudulent employee timesheets to SCDHHS for payment.” Reports said the total amount of fraudulent claims exceeded $10,000…
