Greenville-Spartanburg Weather Update: Snow and Ice Expected Along and North of I-40 Overnight

Greenville, SC – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of the North Carolina mountains and foothills as a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain redevelops late Thursday night into Friday morning, according to the US National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg.

The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday, covering areas north of Interstate 40, including Boone, Asheville, and Hickory. Forecasters expect snow and sleet totals up to ¾ inch and ice accumulations up to 0.1 inch, with slightly higher amounts in higher elevations…
