Cold weather shelter serving growing population in the Upstate needs help: reps say

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – A cold weather shelter in the Upstate is asking for the community’s support as they meet a growing need.

Whenever temperatures reach 40 degrees or below, the gym at the Miracle Hill Greenville Rescue Mission is converted into a cold weather shelter. Staff said it is for men experiencing homelessness and it can hold more than a hundred people.

Jeremy Huff, who is the director at the shelter, told 7NEWS the shelter served 120 individuals experiencing homelessness a night last year, and staff are preparing for a larger volume this year…
