Upstate bridge over I-85 hit by semi-truck, closed ‘until further notice’

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A Spartanburg County bridge was closed after a semi-truck hit the structure on Tuesday.

The Duncan Fire Department said they responded to the crash at mile marker 64 on I-85 southbound just before 2 p.m.

According to officials, the semi-truck was carrying equipment when it struck the bridge on Nazareth Road.

Crews with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) responded to the crash and determined that the bridge would need to be closed for repairs…
